GARDEN HOURS

The gardens are open to the public everyday from dawn till dusk for self-guided tours. Additional hours are available by appointment. There is no admission charge for visitors.  Group tours are guided.  They require reservations and a small fee.

The gardens are easily accessible by car or by public transportation (DART bus lines). Please use the small, on-site parking area. Please note that parking is limited.

Weddings, wedding photos, and other events are allowed and take place in the gardens.  Any and all events require a fee, submission of additional paper work, and coordinating with a schedule of activities in the gardens.  If you are interested in using the gardens for any of these purposes or others, please contact the Gibraltar Gardens Manager Wendy Gentry at garden@preservationde.org or call 302 651 9617.  Priority is given to those that contact first so if you are thinking about an event in the gardens please contact Wendy ASAP with date and time. 

DIRECTIONS TO GIBRALTAR

 The Marian Coffin Gardens at Gibraltar are located at the corner of Greenhill and Pennsylvania avenues in Wilmington, Delaware. Garden entrance is on Greenhill Avenue.

From I-95 North, take I-95 to Exit 7B (Route 52/Delaware Avenue). Follow the exit ramp and continue straight, until reaching the stop light at Route 52. Turn right to travel North on Route 52 (Pennsylvania Avenue). At the fork in the road, bear left to stay on Route 52/Pennsylvania Avenue. [From the South, take Exit 7 (Route 52/Delaware Avenue/Pennsylvania Avenue). Follow exit ramp and continue straight to Route 52. At the light at Route 52, turn left (north). At the fork in the road, bear left to stay on Route 52/Pennsylvania Avenue].

Once on Pennsylvania Avenue, go approximately one mile. You will go under a railroad overpass and begin heading out of the city. Look for the high-rise Devon Apartments at your right at the Greenhill Avenue streetlight. Turn right onto Greenhill Avenue.

Gibraltar is halfway up the block on the left side (1405 Greenhill Avenue). Please enter the property through the stone gateposts and park according to directional signage.

From Route 52 (Greenville, Centreville, and Route 141):

Follow Route 52 South towards Wilmington. Pass Tower Hill School on your left and go under a pedestrian bridge. Go past the University of Delaware Wilmington campus on your right. At the next light (Greenhill Avenue) turn left.

Gibraltar is halfway up the block on the left side (1405 Greenhill Avenue). Please enter the property through the stone gateposts and park according to directional signage.
